Four Interiors That Take Boho Chic Upmarket

Rattan light shades, raw timber, natural fibres, indoor plants and a relaxed living style are all characteristic of the boho chic interiors style. There is charm in its laid-back, well travelled demeanour, and its versatile character can even be infused into a more upmarket style of home too. If you like to flirt with boho beauty but are more comfortable with things to lean a little more to the traditionally chic end of the scale, then these four home interiors tick both of those boxes. Find out how to dash that bohemian essence into all different areas of the home without compromising on smooth sophistication and cosy finesse.

Designer: Butterfly Studio

An L-shaped sectional sofa fills the centre of this living room, packed deep with inviting plump scatter cushions in different prints and styles.

There is a large indoor plant growing by the window, bringing in a piece of the outdoors. A natural timber coffee table and sideboard add texture and golden colour to the living room.

A deep green living room feature wall serves as an attractive mount for the TV. Diagonal panelling creates a unique feature within the rich colour. Cut logs for the wood-burning fire are stored on the lower shelves of a nearby bookcase, tying it in with the rustic look without sacrificing its smooth white finish.

Inspired by the plants, the green accent colour appears in decorative vases in the room too.

Out in the hallway, it’s blue glass vases that adorn a dresser for shoe storage, but a green monstera leaf waves from one. Decorative wall hooks dot timber texture across a plain white wall.

The kitchen is a traditional white affair with chic gold hardware.

A breakfast nook nestles in the corner.

There is also a more formal dining are in the home – though this is given a comforting laid-back vibe with the introduction of large rattan light shades.

A matching rattan shade tops the breakfast nook.

Inside the bedroom, a charcoal bedstead weights down a white and natural toned colour scheme. Moody blue curtains pull back from the window.

A timber section interrupts a clean run of white wardrobes.

Rattan bedroom pendant lights balance out each side of the bed.

Grey-blue tones contrast with light wooden features inside a smart bathroom design, where a slatted room divider stands between the vanity and loo.

Blue hexagonal tiles pattern the back of the shower enclosure.

A unique bathroom vanity light reflects in the frameless vanity mirror.

A rattan basket ups the relaxed boho vibe, along with a casually propped towel ladder.

Home number two is a little less grand in scale but just as inspirational for the easy boho-inspired style. A tasselled wall-hanging kicks off a fiery coloured accent in the living room, which spreads to a knitted pouf on the floor of the lounge, and artwork in the neighbouring kitchen. A swing arm wall lamp throws a spotlight over colourful cushions on the couch, and a couple of natural wood nesting coffee tables in the centre of the room.

The knitted pouf rests at the edge of a light striped area rug, which subtly cosies up the space without fighting with the other colourful elements in the room.

Over in the kitchen, a dining bench and cane chairs team up with a table that’s integrated into the kitchen island.

Stunning floor tiles create an eye-catching monochrome moment.

Terrazzo adds texture to the prep end of the island. A peg board wall makes a relaxed display area for kitchen herbs and keepsakes.

The third interior we’re going to look at is a temple of mature indoor plants, worn leather-look furniture and dark decor. Railway sleepers have been fashioned into a round coffee table in the centre of the lounge, giving it unique flavour.

A jute rug defines the lounge, whilst a faux zebra print rug marks the dining area.

The textured TV wall crackles with interest; deep contours form giant leaf shapes from floor to ceiling, in ode to the foliaged friends in the room.

Deep jade colours one entire wall of the living room, including a huge dresser with beautiful carving. The dining set is crafted with curvaceous wood seats teamed with a natural timber table.

Wood kitchen bar stools line up at the kitchen island.

Dark wood furniture continues the moody theme of the living room through into the kitchen.

More greenery accents the kitchen.

Lastly, home interior number four is autumnal in colour, mixing dark green elements with warm russet brown. A macrame wall hanging brings in an arty boho spirit. Pampas grass pulls a soft accent into the centre of the room.

A gold and glass sputnik chandelier adds sheen over the lounge. Flames roar in a modern fireplace at one end of a marble hearth.

Cacti spike the corner of the lounge.

Boho style woven basket wall decor jostles above a dining nook by a gorgeous expanse of windows.

Glass dining room pendant lights allow natural daylight and the green view to pass straight through.

Rattan dining chairs create contrast with plush cushioned banquette seating.

Gorgeous green bar stools wait by a luxe marble kitchen island. Their colour draws on a basket of cacti planted on the floor.

The globe pendant light trio here matches those in the dining nook.

Glorious windows peer into a courtyard.

Modern outdoor chairs sit on a floor of black and white chequerboard tiles.

A rattan light shade dangles above the courtyard seating.

Back indoors, we find the formal dining room where rattan shades are replaced with sparkling modern chandeliers.
